2. Scope

This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information when merchants install and use the ProfitGuard Shopify app.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Merchant account and shop information

Shop domain and Shopify shop identifiers
App installation and subscription status
Session/authentication metadata required to operate the app

3.2 Shopify order and performance data

Using approved Shopify API scopes (for example read_orders), we may process:

Order totals and timestamps
Discount totals
Refund amounts
Aggregate performance metrics and trend snapshots

3.3 Derived analytics

Weekly metric snapshots
Alert records generated by ProfitGuard rules
Operational logs related to scheduled runs and app reliability

4. How we use information

We use collected information to:

Provide dashboard metrics and alerts inside ProfitGuard
Run scheduled weekly snapshot processing
Support billing and plan-limit behavior
Monitor app reliability, troubleshoot issues, and improve product performance
Respond to support requests

5. Legal basis and merchant responsibility

If required by applicable law, merchants are responsible for ensuring they have a valid legal basis for processing personal data through Shopify and third-party apps they install, including ProfitGuard.

5a. International Compliance

ProfitGuard is designed for global use. We aim to comply with major privacy regulations, including:

GDPR (Europe): Data subjects have rights to access, correct, delete, and export their data. We process data only as needed for app functionality and do not store customer personal data.
CCPA (California): California residents may request access to or deletion of their data. We do not sell data.
Other regional laws: We will update our policy as needed to comply with new regulations.

We do not sell merchant or customer data. We may share information only as needed to:

Operate the service with trusted infrastructure providers (hosting, database, monitoring)
Comply with legal obligations, lawful requests, or enforce our terms
Protect rights, security, and integrity of ProfitGuard and its users

7. Data retention

We retain data only as long as needed for legitimate business purposes, legal obligations, and service continuity.

Session data is deleted immediately when the app is uninstalled.
Shop data (metrics, alerts, billing records) is permanently deleted within 30 days of receiving the GDPR shop/redact webhook from Shopify.
You may request immediate deletion at any time by contacting support@zestorax.com.

8. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Merchant rights and data requests

Depending on applicable law, merchants may request access, correction, deletion, or export of data related to their use of ProfitGuard.

10. App uninstall and deletion workflow

When the app is uninstalled:

Session data is deleted immediately.
Shopify sends a shop/redact GDPR webhook 48 hours after uninstall. Upon receiving it, all remaining shop data (metrics, alerts, billing records, email preferences) is permanently deleted within 30 days.
You may request immediate deletion by contacting support@zestorax.com.

11. International transfers

If data is transferred across jurisdictions, we will use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

12. Children

ProfitGuard is a business application and is not directed to children.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date.
